BK/MPK: Further measures on recognition

The federal chancellor and the government heads of the federal states have once again reinforced the objective of simplifying and speeding up the processes concerning the recognition of vocational qualifications obtained abroad. The passed BK/MPK 2025 resolution builds on the resolution from the previous year – many of the measures have been initiated or implemented. On 4 December, the federal government and the federal states decided on further measures for 2026 in order to build on the progress already achieved.
In 2025 the Recognition of Foreign Professional Qualifications Division at the Federal Institute for Vocational Education and Training (BIBB) had already supported the Federal Ministry for Education, Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth (BMBFSFJ) in the implementation of the BK/MPK resolution. 2026 will build on the implemented measures – again with comprehensive support from the BIBB division. The division is named in the following points, for example, in the BK/MPK resolution 2025:
Further, the division will continue to cooperate in the expansion of the online digital application service as well as other schemes in the area of digitalisation.
