Contact details and information about the hotline “Working and Living in Germany”.

The ZSBA is an advisory service and is not a competent authority. This means, the ZSBA does make any decisions regarding recognition. And it does not trigger any deadlines if it checks your documents.

What service does the ZSBA offer?

The ZSBA is your central contact partner in the recognition procedure. It undertakes, for example, the following tasks:

  • The ZSBA advises you on the process of the recognition procedure
  • The ZSBA supports you in determining the appropriate reference occupation
  • The ZSBA clarifies the federal state in which you want to work, and where you have to apply for recognition (Location Counselling).
  • The ZSBA helps you put together the necessary documents.
  • The ZSBA checks in advance whether your application for recognition and your documents are complete. Following this, it forwards the documents with the application for recognition to the competent authority.
  • The ZSBA informs you about entry and residency.

The ZSBA supports you throughout the entire process of the recognition procedure. This involves the ZSBA working with the competent authorities and, where required, with the immigration authorities. The ZSBA also provides information regarding guidance provision in Germany, opportunities relating to training and about the prospects on the German labour market.
