The 5th Report on the Recognition Act (2019) was published in February 2020. The report from the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) provides important information about the latest developments in the area of professional recognition. The recognition report is based on data, evaluations and analyses of recognition monitoring from the Federal Institute for Vocational education and training (BIBB).
2019 saw a fundamental change in terms of data collection. For the first time, the report will show data from the federal government, federal states and the Central Office for Foreign Education (ZAB). The fact sheet about the recognition report summarises the report’s important results using graphics.
Previously published recognition reports and the corresponding fact sheets can be found in the media library.
InterVal GmbH and the Institute for Business, Work and Culture (IWAK) were tasked with carrying out the extensive academic evaluation by the Federal Institute for Vocational education and training (BIBB). More than 800 individuals who had completed Recognition successfully were surveyed. The legal basis of the evaluation report is the statutory requirement in Section 18 of the Federal Professional qualifications Assessment Act (BQFG) This established that four years after the act entered into force (1 April 2012) an evaluation of the effect of the Recognition Act was to take place. The evaluation report was published in 2017.
