Mobile guidance on recognition

Short routes for those seeking recognition: IQ special issue fact sheet highlights examples of mobile guidance on recognition of foreign professional qualifications in Germany

The “Handwerkermobil” - the craft trades occupations advice van - with fully-equipped office, the portable guidance cases in Hesse and the “Integration Points” in North Rhine-Westphalia are just three examples of the mobile recognition guidance provided via the “Integration through Qualification (IQ)” funding programme and which are presented in a current IQ special issue fact sheet.

Short routes for those seeking advice and reaching out to people—this is the idea behind the mobile guidance being offered by more than 100 different providers. In 2019 alone, more than 13,500 guidance contacts took place on a mobile basis. Guidance provided outside the premises of the provider at multiple, and in some cases, changing locations, and which is easy to access for the target group, is referred to as mobile provision.

How does mobile guidance work and how can it be organised? Answers to this are provided in the publication “Mobile guidance – recommendations for setting up and organising mobile guidance provision” from the IQ Competence Centre for Advisory Services and Job Training of Migrants.
