New training for 2024

The BIBB training team are kicking off 2024 with fresh ideas and new formats for professional recognition.

New digital training offer from 2024

Following the reform of the Skilled Immigration Act, which has entered into force in stages since November 2023, the training team has extended its offer with new formats and up-to-date content.

The current training programme from the BIBB division “Recognition of foreign professional qualifications” is primarily aimed at multipliers providing advice on recognition in Germany and abroad and who provide support to skilled workers interested in recognition when making their application. As in previous years, online training and in-person events are offered free of charge in Germany and abroad.

Basic training sessions

A key component of the new offer is the basic training session “Anerkennungsberatung kompakt“ (Recognition advice: compact), which will be offered online regularly as of 2024. This training session provides participants with basic knowledge.

Content of the “Recognition advice: compact” training session

  • the German recognition procedure
  • legal framework conditions
  • all application requirements

Advanced training sessions

In the future, occupation-specific advanced workshops will also be offered. These allow participants with prior knowledge (e.g. from attending the introductory training) to consolidate their knowledge in specific areas. For example, this could involve practical insights into the recognition procedure for various reference occupations. The occupation-specific advanced workshops will be individually tailored to the work focus of the participant.

Seminars on higher education qualifications and professional qualifications of individual countries

Online seminars will also be offered which specifically address the potential for recognition of foreign higher education qualifications and professional qualifications from selected focus countries. These seminars will not take place on a regular basis.

Currently scheduled: In January 2024, and in cooperation with the BQ portal and the Central Office for Foreign Education (ZAB), the training team is providing an event addressing the opportunities and challenges involved in the recognition of Turkish qualifications in Germany.
