Mountain guides accompany their customers in Alpine terrains and train them in the various forms of mountain climbing. The services they provide include hiking, rock climbing, snow shoe tours and ski tours as well as extending to icefall climbing.

Fields of work

Mountain guides mainly work for mountain and skiing schools, for sports clubs, at sports hotels or for other companies providing accommodation such as mountain huts. They may also be employed by tour operators.
