Professional activities

  • Veterinary specialists examine and treat animals. They diagnose illness and disease, perform surgical interventions or prescribe medicines. Veterinary specialists monitor and document the healing process. They advise owners of animals on aspects such as species-appropriate keeping or breeding.
  • Veterinary specialists specialise in animal species and/or in medical areas of expertise. There are specialisations which cover individual species, such as horses or pigs.
