Continuing vocational education and training in health professions

Do you work in a healthcare profession and have completed an additional specialisation abroad? In Germany, this often corresponds to continuing vocational education and training.

To work in a healthcare profession in Germany, you usually require state authorisation. Only then are you allowed to use the professional title and work in the profession. These professions include, for example, general nurse, physiotherapist, technical surgery assistant or midwife.

In these professions, you can specialise in many areas, e.g. emergency care or intensive care. This is the continuing vocational education and training.

In Germany, you can apply for recognition of your additional qualification as recognition of continuing vocational education and training. This will be explained in the next step.
