Security Guard (m/f)
Security guards protect the lives or the property of other people. They also guard businesses, properties, events and security transport.
If you want to work as a security guard in Germany, you need a permit. You must prove your specialist knowledge for this. In Germany, this is called a certificate of competence.
Your options
There are two ways to work as a security guard:
You have a foreign qualification as a security guard. You can use this to prove your competency.
Or: You can have your foreign professional qualification recognized in one of the professions listed below. Successful recognition means that you have the necessary competency. You can then apply for an authorisation to work as a security guard. Your professional qualification may be relevant:
