Fields of work

Air traffic controllers predominantly work for airport companies in regulating and controlling air traffic in the airfield section and in control centres for air-traffic control during flights. They also find work in the Federal Armed Forces. In addition they can be employed by aeronautical authorities and work in the field of training, e.g. at the Air Navigation Services Academy.

Professional experience

Operating from the tower or the control centre, air traffic controllers supervise and manage air traffic. With the aid of radar screen and aeronautical radio service they ensure a safe and smooth flow of traffic in their sector.
