Coronavirus: Fewer recognition services
Due to the coronavirus pandemic, some services for the recognition of foreign professional qualifications in Germany are currently not available.
However, you can still learn more about recognition from us whenever you like. Take some time to read our information, available in 11 languages! Then you will be well informed for the next steps.
Current information on limited services
- The “Working and Living in Germany” hotline can be reached by telephone again.
- The competent authorities are only available in a limited capacity for processing recognition applications. Most of the websites of the competent authorities include information on how to contact them. You can find the competent authorities in the Recognition Finder.
- You can send a new application for a Statement of Comparability to the Central Office for Foreign Education (ZAB). The application form has been opened again. But due to capacity constraints the processing of inquiries and the issuing of Statements of Comparability may still be delayed. ZAB can only be reached via post or email. You can find more information on ZAB's website.
- As a general rule, personal recognition counselling from the “Integration through Training” funding programme (IQ) is now only possible via telephone or online. You can find counselling centres here: Counselling in Germany
